Free Assistive Devices Distributed to Children with Special Needs in Wanaparthy

A special program was held on Monday in Wanaparthy district to distribute free assistive devices to children with special needs. The event took place at Bhavita Kendra, located in the Mandal Education Officer’s Office in KDR Nagar. It was organized by the Education Department, Samagra Shiksha, and Alinco.

The District Collector attended as the chief guest. In August, an assessment was conducted to identify children in need of support, and 69 children with special needs were selected. On Monday, the Collector personally distributed tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing aids to these children at no cost.

During the event, the Collector spoke about the purpose of Bhavita Kendra. He explained that the center aims to provide training and support to children with disabilities, helping them become independent like other children. He added that physically challenged children would receive physiotherapy, while those with hearing impairments would get hearing aids and special education.
