Foxconn Expresses Interest in Investing in Telangana

Foxconn’s chairman, Young Liu, is planning to visit Hyderabad soon to explore investment opportunities in the city and the state of Telangana. The visit will focus on potential investments in various industrial and service sectors.

This was announced after Young Liu met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Industry Minister D Sridhar Babu in New Delhi on Friday. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the advantages of investing in Hyderabad. He emphasized the city’s rich history, favorable climate, and strong industrial ecosystem.

The Chief Minister also discussed Hyderabad’s consistent industrial growth over the years. He explained that this progress has continued steadily, even as governments have changed. Revanth Reddy introduced the concept of the “Fourth City,” which is a new development project that aims to promote growth in education, life sciences, medicine, sports, electronics, electrical industries, and skill development. He also mentioned the Young India Skill University, which will be a key part of this new project.

Young Liu was impressed by the Chief Minister’s vision and the potential for future growth in Hyderabad. He expressed Foxconn’s strong interest in exploring investment opportunities in the city. He mentioned that a team led by Kathy Yang, Chief Campus Operations Officer, and India representative V Lee will visit Hyderabad first. After that, Liu himself will visit the city.

V Lee also praised the Chief Minister’s vision and the pro-industrial policies of the Fourth City project. The Chief Minister assured Foxconn of full support if they decide to set up their units in the Fourth City. This support would include single-window clearances for permits and additional incentives.
