Telangana Congress’s former President and minister P Laxmaiah has resigned from the Congress party ahead of the Assembly elections. In a letter to AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Laxmaiah expressed his dissatisfaction with the party, particularly with TPCC Chief A Revanth Reddy. He claimed that Reddy avoided communicating with senior leaders and accused the state party leadership of disregarding the request to allocate seats to the BCs based on their population in the state.

Laxmaiah also criticized the Congress for not upholding the Udaipur declaration, which stated that only one ticket should be given to each family. According to him, the state leadership ignored this declaration and awarded tickets to wealthy families.
