Delhi Capitals has added former Sunrisers Hyderabad player Priyam Garg to their team in the middle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. It is unclear which player he will replace. Delhi Capitals had called Garg and Abhimanyu Easwaran for trials on April 19, and Easwaran confirmed that Garg was selected. Garg had previously been released by SRH and had no other teams interested in him.
On Thursday, Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets, earning their first win of the ongoing IPL 2023. The DC bowlers were successful, with Ishant Sharma, Anrich Nortje, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav each taking two wickets. David Warner scored 57 runs before Axar Patel hit an unbeaten 19 to lead the team to victory.
The DC bowling line-up came together after five consecutive defeats, holding KKR to only 127 runs on a difficult pitch that favored both pacers and spinners. Warner had been struggling with his strike-rate, but he was able to score 57 off 41 on Thursday. The team reached their target with four balls to spare.
