    Many BRS councillors and MPTCs from Kollapur Municipality and constituency joined the Congress party in the presence of Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Tuesday. This move is part of the Congress party’s strategy to strengthen its position for the upcoming MLC by-elections and Lok Sabha Elections.

    Under the leadership of Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, the Congress party welcomed several councillors from the BRS into its fold. These former adversaries are now being courted by Congress to solidify its base.

    Five Members of the Panchayat (MPTCs) and three councillors from the BRS party officially joined the Congress ranks in a ceremony presided over by Minister Jupally. Prominent figures such as MPTCs Shyamala, Subbaiah Yadav, Ramadevi, Lakshmi Nayak, and Nagamma, as well as women councillors from Kolhapur municipality, including Haimavathi Ellagoud, Chittemma Ravi, and Alivelamma Karne Vasu, renounced their affiliation with the BRS party.

    The newly-inducted members praised Jupally’s leadership and commitment to addressing issues in Kolhapur. They pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the victory of the Congress candidate in the upcoming local body MLC elections, citing the party’s dedication to good governance and Jupally’s visionary leadership.
