In Hyderabad, many former employees of Brane Enterprises shared their problems during a public hearing. They spoke about the unfair treatment they received from the company. IT Minister D Sridhar Babu attended the hearing and promised to talk to the management of Brane Enterprises. He said he would help find a fair solution for the employees.
The public hearing was organized by the All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) at the Exhibition Grounds. Over 100 former employees, representing around 3,000 employees in total, came together to voice their concerns. They explained how they were fired without receiving their salaries for months. The employees also handed over a list of their demands to the Minister.
Minister Sridhar Babu assured the employees that the government is concerned about the welfare of software workers. He said a team of officials would meet with Brane Enterprises to better understand the issue and work towards a solution. He emphasized that the government would act as a mediator to help resolve the dispute.
The employees described how the company made false promises. They were recruited from top institutes across India but were not paid within four months of joining. Many were fired without warning. One employee, Pushpita, shared her struggles, explaining that she was recruited through campus placement and is now facing mental distress. She is still paying off her MBA loans and cannot find new employment, while others with families are struggling to pay school fees.
Another employee, Rakshit Agnihotri, shared his disappointment. He said that even though they studied at prestigious institutes like NIT, IIT, and IIMs, they still became victims of the system.
AIPC Chairman Praveen Chakravarty, PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud, former Justice B Chandra Kumar, and Vijay Mahajan, Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Contemporary Studies, attended the hearing and listened patiently to the employees’ concerns.
