Food Safety Violations Found at Hyderabad Restaurant

Food safety officers in Telangana conducted an inspection at a mandi restaurant in Sainikpuri and found multiple violations. The inspection took place after a complaint was filed against The Arabian Mandi.

Officials discovered that the restaurant did not have a valid copy of its FSSAI license displayed, which is a requirement. They also found that the establishment was making mayonnaise using raw eggs, despite a government ban. Around 1 kg of illegally prepared mayonnaise was discarded.

Another violation involved the use of synthetic food colors in food preparation, which is not allowed under FSSAI regulations. Inspectors also found around 15 kg of marinated raw chicken stored in a refrigerator for over a week. The storage area was rusty and had visible blood stains, raising concerns about hygiene.

The inspection team further identified a cockroach infestation in the kitchen and refrigerator. Cockroaches were also seen on electric pipes, switchboards, and among raw food materials.

Additionally, the cooking staff was reusing cooking oil multiple times, which is an unsafe practice. The kitchen was found to be unhygienic, with uncovered dustbins and no proper cleanliness measures in place.

The restaurant also failed to provide important documents like a pest control certificate, medical records for food handlers, and Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) documents. Authorities are expected to take action against the violations found at the eatery.
