Amshula Satyanarayana, a well-known fluoride activist from Sivannagudem village in Nalgonda district, has passed away at the age of 75. He had been dealing with health problems for the last four years.

For over 30 years, Satyanarayana worked hard to fight against fluoride contamination in his village. The water in Sivannagudem was contaminated with fluoride, which caused serious health issues for many people.

Satyanarayana’s son, Swami, was born with health problems caused by fluoride. Like many others in the village, Swami suffered because of the unsafe water. Out of the 4,970 people living in Sivannagudem, 320 residents were affected by fluoride, and 30 people have died over the years because of it. Satyanarayana and his son spent 35 years fighting for the victims of fluoride contamination, raising awareness and campaigning for change.
