Tragic Car Accident in Yadadri-Bhongir District Claims Five Lives

In a heartbreaking accident, five young men lost their lives after their car plunged into a pond near Jalalpuram in the Yadadri-Bhongir district. The incident happened early Saturday morning when the car, moving at high speed in thick fog, went out of control and skidded into the water.

The group of friends, all residents of Hyderabad, had gathered for a late-night party at LB Nagar. The victims were identified as Thigulla Vamsi Goud (23), Kalakoti Akshay Kumar (19), Jella Vinay (21), Indrapalli Harsha Vardhan (22), and Veeramalla Vigneshwar (20). Another friend, Medaboyina Manikantha Yadav (21), was the sole survivor of the tragic accident.

After their party, the group decided to drive to Pochampally, reportedly after consuming alcohol. Around 3:30 a.m., during their return journey, visibility was severely affected by dense fog. Vamsi, who was driving, suddenly applied the handbrake, causing the car to lose balance, skid, and overturn into a pond.

Manikantha, who was seated in the front, managed to escape by breaking a side window. Unfortunately, the other five friends were unable to open the car doors and drowned as the vehicle quickly filled with water. A passing milkman noticed the accident and alerted the local police. Using a JCB machine, authorities recovered the car and retrieved the bodies.

Still in shock, Manikantha described the terrifying moments. “The car filled with water in seconds. I broke the window and swam out, but my friends couldn’t escape,” he shared.

Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the incident. Local officials, including ACP Madhusudhan Reddy, visited the accident site. The bodies were sent to Bhongir Area Hospital for postmortem examinations.
