District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala visited Bhadrachalam to observe the flood situation. The first warning level was withdrawn by officials at Godavari in Bhadrachalam due to heavy rains in the state and neighboring states. The water level was recorded at 43.9 feet at 6 am, but it receded to 42.7 feet by 2 pm and 41.9 feet at 6 pm, leading to the withdrawal of the warning level.
During her visit, Dr Priyanka Ala conducted a meeting with officials to discuss their preparedness for rescue and relief measures. She ordered them not to leave their working places without permission. The devotees were unhappy as they were not allowed to perform ablutions in the river, as the flood water had reached the bathing steps and pushkar ghats.
The District Collector also inspected flood relief centers in Bhadrachalam and interacted with the people who had been shifted there. She emphasized the importance of hygiene, cleanliness, and quality food for the people staying in the shelters. Additionally, she inspected the shelters and provided directions to the staff.
