Good news may be on the horizon for State universities in Telangana. The State government seems to be taking them seriously and sending positive vibes. Previously, it was difficult to address issues in review meetings, and there was no guarantee of a response from the government. However, a recent review meeting with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy showed a different approach. He asked important questions and expressed willingness to focus on strengthening the State universities.
During the meeting, Reddy requested high education officials to assess the budgetary needs of the universities. He also asked senior officials in the Finance department to review the proposals and budget requirements. The Chief Minister emphasized that universities should not become weak but rather steps should be taken to strengthen them.
A senior official from the State Higher Education department spoke to The Hans India and praised Reddy’s response. The official mentioned that the Chief Minister not only listened and asked questions but also provided quick responses. The issues the State universities have been facing, such as infrastructure improvement, timely fee reimbursement, and faculty appointments, are being addressed since the formation of the State.
