A shocking incident took place in Petbasheerabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, where a man was allegedly held captive, threatened, and beaten by his friend over an unpaid loan.

The victim, Yashwanth, had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from his friend, Srinath Reddy, to organize a New Year 2025 event in Narsingi last December. However, despite multiple reminders, Yashwanth failed to repay the amount.

On March 14, Srinath Reddy, along with his associates, allegedly caught Yashwanth and took him to an open ground near a Bajaj showroom. There, they confined him and brutally attacked him using liquor bottles, hockey sticks, and belts.

When Yashwanth went missing, his mother filed a complaint with the Petbasheerabad police. The police then registered a case against Srinath Reddy and his associates for illegal confinement and assault. She also accused Reddy of running an illegal finance business and charging extremely high interest rates.
