Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is concerned that Telugu film stars are not doing enough to raise awareness about drugs and cyber crime. He pointed out that while big film stars are asking for permission to raise ticket prices for their movies, they are not fulfilling their social responsibility.

Speaking at an event where vehicles for the State Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Cyber Security Bureau were flagged off, Revanth directed officials to make it a requirement for filmmakers to provide a short video promoting awareness on drugs and cybercrime when they ask for permission to hike ticket prices. He suggested that the video could feature the same actors from the film requesting the price hike.

Revanth praised actor Chiranjeevi for submitting a video addressing the issue of narcotic substances. He urged police commissioners to ask filmmakers to include a short awareness video on narcotics and cyber crime when seeking permissions for film shoots.

The Chief Minister stressed that while films involve a lot of money, drugs are a major societal issue that needs attention. He instructed cinema owners to show short films promoting awareness against drugs and cyber crime for free before each screening.
