Farmers in Gadwal are busy planting crops for the Kharif season thanks to good monsoon conditions and favorable weather. Even though it’s already mid-June, they are working hard in their fields. However, they have not yet received the financial assistance promised by the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
This delay in assistance has put a financial strain on the farmers, forcing them to take out loans with high interest rates of 24% to 36% annually. This burden is causing a lot of distress among the farming community. Adding to their troubles, banks are reluctant to give new loans to farmers who still have outstanding debts from previous seasons.
Farmers are struggling with loans that have high interest rates, making it difficult for them to make ends meet. Banks are demanding that farmers pay off their old debts before considering new loans. Officials have stated that new loans will only be given if previous debts are cleared. However, the government has promised to waive loans up to 2 lakhs if farmers settle their debts and take a new loan. Farmers are hoping for the timely arrival of the Raitu Bharosa support that was promised to help ease their financial burdens.
