Farmers in Siddipet district are facing a lot of damage due to the heavy rain, winds, and hailstorm. The crops of paddy, mango, and vegetables have been severely affected. Paddy has been grown in about 348,471 acres in different regions of the district. The continuous rain has made it difficult for farmers to dry the wet grain, which is a routine process. The hopes of the farmers for a good harvest have been shattered by the rain and hailstorm.

In the last month, high-velocity winds and hailstorms have damaged crops in about 80,000 acres of land. However, it is believed that the damage could be even more, around one lakh acres. The farmers are very upset as their investments of thousands of rupees have been lost due to the weather. Wet grains stored at the purchase centers indicate the loss that they have suffered.

The Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao has instructed Agriculture department officials to prepare a report on the farmers who have suffered crop damage and submit it to the government. The farmers are in a difficult situation due to the loss of crops, and they need support from the government to recover from this difficult time.
