BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has warned the Congress government that his party will protest if water is not released to farmers’ fields within 48 hours. He announced that they would stage a dharna in front of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s office if their demand is not met.

During his visit to Sircilla, KTR criticized the Congress government, claiming that they were deliberately letting crops dry up across the state. He accused the government of using the Medigadda accident as an excuse and acting against KCR out of hatred.

KTR expressed concerns about the impact of water shortages on agriculture in Sircilla, Tungaturthi, Suryapet, and Kodad areas. He blamed the Congress for creating this crisis, stating that it was not a natural drought but one caused by the government’s negligence.

While visiting farmers in Devunigutta Thanda, KTR listened to their problems. The farmers showed him their dried fields and explained their struggles due to the lack of irrigation water.

Speaking to the media, KTR strongly criticized the Congress government. He emphasized that under KCR’s leadership, water from the Kaleshwaram project was used to fill reservoirs, benefiting farmers. He insisted that the damaged Medigadda pillar could be repaired to restore water supply.

He also pointed out that when KCR was the Chief Minister, farmers were supported even during extreme heat by filling streams and ponds through Upper Manair and Mid Manair. However, he claimed that now, hundreds of acres of crops in Sircilla district are drying up.

KTR warned that his party would not remain silent. If water is not released within 48 hours, they will stage a protest in front of the Minister’s Chamber to demand immediate action.
