    Family Sets Woman on Fire in Uttar Pradesh After Learning About Her Pregnancy

    A distressing incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district. A 23-year-old woman was subjected to a horrifying act by her own family after they found out she was pregnant. The incident happened in Nawada Khurd village. The woman is now in critical condition with burns covering more than 70 percent of her body. She has been transferred to a higher-level medical facility for treatment.

    The police have apprehended the woman’s mother and brother in connection with the incident. According to law enforcement, the woman, who is unmarried, had a physical relationship with a young man from the same village, resulting in her pregnancy. When her family learned about this, they reacted with anger.

    On September 28, the woman’s mother and brother took her to a nearby forest. There, they poured petrol on her and set her on fire. The victim suffered severe burns and was immediately taken to the hospital.

    The Additional Superintendent of Police (Hapur), Rajkumar Aggarwal, has informed that a case of attempted murder has been filed against the woman’s mother and brother. An ongoing investigation is being conducted into the matter.
