A protest at Himayat Sagar Road brought traffic to a halt for over an hour. The protestors were upset because some people were given more than one house. They demanded that the local MLA, T Prakash Goud, address their issue or they would continue the protest. During the protest, slogans like “MLA DOWN DOWN” were shouted.

In Rangareddy district, families who hoped to receive 2BHK houses held a sit-in front of the GHMC Rajendranagar office. They criticized the BRS government and local MLA T Prakash Goud. The protest caused a traffic jam and police struggled to remove the protestors. The protestors believed that their dreams of getting a house were shattered while others received multiple houses.

The protestors chanted ‘MLA DOWN DOWN’ for almost an hour. They demanded that T Prakash Goud come to the site and explain why they were denied their rights. One protestor, Shamlamma, expressed disappointment that their names were not on the list of beneficiaries after waiting for nine years. Another protestor criticized the government for favoring those who already have homes instead of helping the underprivileged.

Shameem Sultana, another protestor, said they had been living in a rented house for decades and had hope when the TRS government came into power. However, their hopes were dashed when they found their names missing from the beneficiary list. Another protestor shared a similar story, stating that they had applied for a house in 2016 but still hadn’t received one.
