During the Qualifier 1 match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023, the broadcaster showed a tree emoji instead of dot balls. This is because the BCCI plans to plant 500 trees for each dot ball bowled in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League in 2023. The BCCI has taken this initiative to promote environmental sustainability.

In the match, Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings. The winner of the match will advance directly to the final, while the loser will have another chance to compete in Qualifier 2. Titans skipper Hardik Pandya made one change to the team, with Darshan Nalkande coming in for Yash Dayal. CSK, on the other hand, remained unchanged.
