Hyderabad: In a significant step toward fostering urban development, the Telangana government has approved the creation of two new municipal corporations and 12 municipalities, according to official sources. This move aims to enhance infrastructure, streamline governance, and improve the quality of life for citizens in rapidly growing urban areas.

One of the newly approved municipalities is the Moinabad Municipality, which will include only the following villages: Aziznagar, Himayatnagar, Surangal, Moinabad, Yenkapally, Chilkur, Mutuzaguda, and Peddamanglaram.

Request to include these Villages also

Along with the eight villages, officials and public representatives received proposals from several additional villages requesting inclusion in the municipality. Villages such as Appojiguda, Amlapur, Bakaram, Kashimbouli, and Nagireddyguda expressed their desire to be added to the list, citing their close proximity to the city.

    Debate Over Naming

The announcement, however, has sparked a debate over the name of the new municipality. BJP leaders have proposed renaming it to Chilkur Municipality, citing the cultural and historical significance of the area, home to the famous Chilkur Balaji Temple.

    Impact on Development

The government’s decision is expected to bring uniformity in infrastructure standards, enabling better planning and execution of development projects. Improved roads, drainage systems, and other civic amenities are anticipated to significantly enhance the living standards for residents in these newly formed municipalities.

This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to meeting the demands of urbanization while balancing local sentiments and priorities. Further details about the new corporations and municipalities are expected to be announced soon.
