Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao campaigned in the Palakurthi constituency on Wednesday. He stated that Chief Minister KCR has empowered tribals both financially and politically. Minister Rao, along with Tribal welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod, participated in the Girijan Atmeeya Sammelan at Thorrur.
Errabelli mentioned that the Congress had promised to upgrade tribal thandas into gram panchayats in 2009, but it was Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who fulfilled this promise. KCR also ensured that the tribals have control over their thandas. Additionally, KCR increased reservations for tribals from 6% to 10%, providing them with more opportunities for academic and financial progress.
Errabelli expressed that if KCR returns to power, the Girijan Bandhu financial assistance scheme will become a reality. Satyavathi Rathod acknowledged the efforts of Errabelli in providing abundant irrigation and drinking water facilities to the people of Palakurthi constituency. She also mentioned that the development has led to an increase in land prices in and around Palakurthi. Rathod urged people not to trust the Congress, which has failed to develop the nation despite numerous opportunities. BRS leaders Gandhi Naik, Rajesh Naik, Kalu Naik, Nehru Naik, B Saraswathi, and Jatoth Praveen Naik were present at the event.
