The Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, helped MGNREGS workers with their labor at Ghatikal under Raiparthy mandal in Warangal district on Monday. He also inaugurated a 132/33 KV electricity sub-station at Palakurthi in Jangaon district as part of the Telangana Formation decennial celebrations. The minister stated that Telangana has made significant progress in the power sector, becoming number one in the country in electricity consumption. He praised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his proactive measures in power generation, recalling the days when farmers waited endlessly for power supply and industries came to a halt due to power holidays in the united Andhra Pradesh.
Errabelli stated that Telangana consistently provides uninterrupted power supply, with per capita consumption of 2,166 units, compared to the national average of 1,255 units. The government has provided over Rs 50,000 crore subsidies, benefiting 27.10 lakh electricity connections in the state. The minister interacted with MGNREGS workers and assured them of providing steel water bottles and lunch boxes along with a bag.
