Erra Gangireddy, a suspect in the murder of former minister YS Viveka, surrendered in the CBI court in Nampally, Hyderabad. He had been out on bail but was ordered to surrender by the Telangana High Court. Gangireddy surrendered and was remanded until June 2 by the court.
Gangireddy was arrested on March 28, 2019, by a special investigation team but was granted bail when the charge sheet was not filed within a specified period. However, after the case was transferred to CBI, they conducted their own investigation and named Gangireddy as A-1 in the case. The CBI asked the court to cancel his bail but were dismissed by both lower and higher courts.
