Strict security measures and traffic restrictions have been put in place for the Vinayaka immersion in Khammam, according to Police Commissioner Vishnu S Warrier. The Ganesh idols will be immersed at Munneru Vagu in Prakash Nagar suburbs near Kalva Voddu. People are advised to choose alternate routes due to the traffic restrictions on Wednesday.
To ensure a safe and incident-free immersion, preventive measures will be taken in coordination with various departments including the district police, revenue, municipal, R&B, and medical departments. CCTV cameras and barricades will be installed at the immersion areas, and constant police surveillance will be maintained.
Around one thousand Ganesh idols from Khammam division are expected to be immersed in two areas. The utsava committees are urged to finish the immersion on time, and only 10 vehicles will be allowed during the process.
Everyone is requested to cooperate and contribute to a peaceful atmosphere during the Ganesh immersion. The use of sound systems and DJs is prohibited during the Shobha Yatra, and vehicle drivers are advised not to consume alcohol or intoxicating drinks.
A strong security presence of 600 police personnel has been arranged to prevent any untoward incidents and traffic problems during the immersion. Vehicles coming from Naidu Peta will be diverted and allowed to enter Khammam Town via Mulakalapalli crossroad and Bypass Road from 2 pm.
