The town of Bhadrachalam is getting ready for the grand Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Kalyanam and Maha Pattabhishekam Mahotsavam, scheduled for April 6 and 7. To ensure everything runs smoothly, Bhadrachalam RDO Damodar Rao has directed officials to complete all necessary preparations by March 31.
On Friday, a division-level meeting was held following the instructions of District Collector Jitesh V Patil. During the meeting, RDO Damodar Rao explained that the venue has been divided into 24 sectors, with special officers assigned to each section. This will help manage the large number of devotees attending the event.
To enhance security and crowd control, strong barriers will be placed between sectors. Lodging facilities have been made available online, allowing devotees to book accommodations in advance. Entry tickets can also be purchased digitally. Sanitation is a top priority, with the town divided into 25 zones, each overseen by designated officers to ensure cleanliness.
Since the event will take place during the summer, officials are making arrangements for an uninterrupted supply of fresh drinking water. Around 200 water taps will be installed, and 30 personnel will monitor the water supply. Additionally, 12 officials will conduct water quality tests to ensure safety. Buttermilk packets will also be distributed to help devotees stay hydrated.
Parking and fire safety measures have been strengthened. Fire engines and emergency rescue teams will be on standby, along with ST Girish equipment for fire safety. Strict river safety measures are also in place along the Godavari River, including warning boards, ready-to-deploy boats, and stationed water tankers to prevent accidents.
A three-tier security system will be implemented at the Kalyana Mandapam to manage the large crowds. To make the distribution of Talambras and Prasadam easier, the Temple EO has been asked to set up 60 counters, with police-supported mobile counters. Additionally, 25 information centres will be set up across the town to assist devotees.
