Andhra Pradesh Employees JAC leader Bopparaju Venkateswarlu has demanded that the arrears and interim relief due to the employees be announced before the election notification in the State. He mentioned that more than 50 percent of government employees are women, which is why AP JAC Amaravati formed state and district women’s units. This is the first time in trade union history that women’s units have been formed.

Venkateswarlu highlighted that the employees have fully cooperated with the YSRCP Government, even working during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they are frustrated that the government has not paid their dues. He emphasized that they have previously achieved non-financial demands through a movement, but their financial demands remain unresolved.

The Cabinet sub-committee has not taken up the issue of dues with the government, and the government owes Rs.6,700 crores to the employees. Venkateswarlu also mentioned that surrender leave was not sanctioned to the police, and in the past, no government had kept employee arrears pending. The employees are not asking for bonuses, but rather the amounts due to them from the government.
