    The Election Commission is speeding up the printing of Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj directed District Election Officers (DEO) to print EPIC cards every 15 days to ensure eligible voters receive them quickly.

    During the meeting, CEO Vikas Raj emphasized the importance of handling forms 6, 7, and 8 for voter registration, addressing objections, and managing voter transfers. He instructed the Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) to dispose of forms daily and create an action plan for timely disposal. He also instructed them to complete data processing and uploading of physical forms by September 03.

    The CEO also emphasized the importance of promoting electoral awareness through the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP). He requested DEOs to focus on participation from Electoral Literacy Clubs and collaborate with local influencers to encourage citizens to enroll as voters.

    The meeting was attended by Joint CEO Sarfraz Ahmad, GHMC Commissioner and DEO Ronald Rose, Collector and DEO Rangareddy S Harish, Collector and DEO Medchal-Malkajgiri Amoy Kumar, Collector and DEO Hyderabad Durishetty Anudeep, CEO of the Cantonment Board D Madhukar Naik, and all EROs of the 24 assembly constituencies of GHMC.
