Hyderabad:
An elderly couple tragically died, and a teenage girl is fighting for her life after a major fire broke out in a house in Rein Bazar, Yakutpura, on Monday night. The fire started when cooking oil in a pan overheated, causing flames that quickly spread throughout the house. Firecrackers stored for Diwali also exploded, making the situation worse.
The couple, Heera Mohan Lal (55) and his wife Usha Rani (50), were at home along with a family member, 15-year-old Shruti, when the fire began. They were cooking on the first floor of their house when the flames spread rapidly, igniting the stored firecrackers and intensifying the blaze.
Shruti sustained serious injuries in the fire and was rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Local leaders, including Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj and Rein Bazar Corporator Mohammed Wasayuddin, visited both the accident site and the hospital to check on Shruti’s condition.
Officials confirmed that the fire started when the oil in the pan became too hot, and the stored fireworks contributed to the severity of the blaze.
