    Efforts underway to increase TSRTC occupancy ratio to 75%, says Puvvada

    The Transport Minister of Telangana, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, has announced that efforts are being made to increase the occupancy ratio of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) from 69 percent to 75 percent. The TSRTC staff safely transports around 30 lakh people daily, and the Minister has urged people to support the corporation by choosing to travel in RTC buses. To improve services, 756 super luxury buses have been recently purchased by TSRTC. The corporation is also adding more buses to connect with metro services in Hyderabad. Managing Director of TSRTC, VC Sajjanar, has revealed that 630 super luxury buses and 130 deluxe buses have already been made available for passengers, and an additional 100 AC sleeper buses will be introduced soon. Furthermore, electric buses will be launched in April, with 50 inter-city electric AC buses introduced on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route for the first time. The Chairman of TSRTC, Bajireddy Govardhan, has stated that the AC sleeper buses launched recently have a length of 12 meters and a capacity of 30 berths (15 upper and 15 lower). These AC buses also provide free Wi-Fi, and passengers can book their tickets on www.tsrtconline.in.
