    Patancheru MLA G Mahipal Reddy went to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning about illegal mining activities. The ED searched his house last week, suspecting up to Rs 300 crore of government losses due to illegal mining.

    Allegations also surfaced about Mahipal Reddy’s mining company not paying taxes to the government. His business, Santosh Sand and Granites, allegedly evaded Rs 39 crore in taxes. The MLA and his brother conduct mining operations in Patancheru and nearby areas, using the profits for real estate and businesses under different names.
