Delhi/Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) notice she received in the Delhi Excise Policy case is politically motivated. Her legal team has informed the ED that she cannot appear before them on Friday because she has prior engagements and the case is pending before the Supreme Court.

The ED has summoned Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, to their Delhi office on Friday for questioning about her alleged involvement in irregularities. Kavitha had already been questioned multiple times in March at the ED headquarters and had to submit her mobile phones for investigation.

In response to the notice, Kavitha stated at a press conference in Nizamabad that the BJP often uses central agencies for political gain in election-bound states, and they are doing the same in Telangana. She believes the notice is politically motivated due to the charged atmosphere in Telangana ahead of the upcoming elections.

Kavitha compared the ongoing ED investigation to a never-ending TV serial, expressing frustration with its duration. She stated that the investigation is politically motivated and that the Bharatiya Rajyam Samanvaya Samiti (BRS) is not affiliated with any political party but represents the people of Telangana. She also mentioned that the people will give a fitting response to the BJP.

The ED’s notice comes shortly after one of the prime accused, Arun Ramachandra Pillai, became an approver in the case.
