Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj has announced that preparations are underway for the State Assembly polls on November 30. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is introducing home voting for the first time to ensure a smooth and problem-free polling process. Telangana has a total of 3.26 crore voters, with a majority being women.
Raj revealed that there are already 4 lakh postal ballots and 8.84 lakh EVM ballots printed and ready. Additionally, 51 lakh epic cards have been printed and distributed. Home voting will be conducted in three categories, and so far, 9,300 people above the age of 80 have exercised their right to vote.
The CEO stated that the distribution of 2.81 crore voter slips has been completed, with the remaining slips to be distributed in the next two days. Telangana has a total of 35,655 polling centers, utilizing 59,000 ballot units. There are also 114 registered parties participating in the election.
Regarding security measures, Raj mentioned that 6,600 complaints have been received through the C Vigil app. Three SST flying squads have been deployed in each Assembly segment. Additionally, 64,000 state police officers have been deployed, and 375 central companies are coming to Telangana to enhance security during the election.
