Citizens in Hyderabad can now vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections even without voter ID cards. The Election Commission of India has approved 13 alternative documents for voters to use, according to Hyderabad District Election Officer Ronald Rose.
Ronald Rose emphasized that voters must show one of the approved alternative identification cards at the polling centers to verify their identity before casting their vote. The voter slips distributed at the polling centers are not enough for identification.
The 13 alternative documents that can be used for voting include Aadhaar Card, MNREGA Job Card, Pass book with photo from post office or bank, Health Insurance card, Smart Card from Ministry of Labour, Driving license, PAN card, Smart card from RGI, Indian Passport, Pension sanction document with photograph, Employment Identity Card from Central/State Government or PSUs/Public Limited Companies, Certificate of authority from MLA, MP, MLC, and Disability Identity Card.
It is important for voters to carry their identity cards and exercise their right to vote during the upcoming parliamentary Elections in Hyderabad.
