Virat Kohli, a cricketer currently playing in the Indian Premier League, is being falsely accused of supporting Congress and Rahul Gandhi in the Karnataka elections. A photo on social media claims that Kohli posted a story on his Instagram account supporting Congress, but this has been proven to be false. India.com checked Kohli’s Instagram account and found no such story. In fact, Kohli’s recent Instagram stories have been about congratulating Suryakumar Yadav for hitting his maiden IPL hundred.

Kohli is currently in Rajasthan for the 60th match of the IPL, which will be played on May 14th at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. During this time, a fake Instagram story has been going viral on social media, but it has been confirmed to be inaccurate. Congress has won the Karnataka elections, with the Bharatiya Janata Party losing power in the southern state.
