Land sharks and local gram panchayats in Rangareddy district have been trespassing into lands owned by the Telangana State Wakf Board (TSWB). In one case in Shamshabad mandal, the gram panchayat authorities at Hameedullah Nagar village were found dumping garbage on wakf land with a Dargah. Garbage dumping is being used as a way to trespass on Wakf Board lands because there is no regular supervision from the board. Many wakf lands, especially in Hameedullah Nagar village, have been encroached upon. Recently, fresh attempts to encroach on the land were reported in survey numbers 87 and 89. The gram panchayat authorities have turned a blind eye to the issue despite being aware that the land is owned by the Dargah management. Similar attempts have caused conflicts in the past.
