Nagar Kurnool: Dr. B. Alochana, the medical officer of Lattupalli, stressed the importance of preventing mosquito breeding by keeping water containers dry every Friday. She explained that by drying out all water-holding items in homes, the growth of mosquito larvae can be controlled, which helps reduce the spread of mosquitoes.

This practice, called “Dry Day,” takes place every Friday as instructed by the district health department. It is an essential step in reducing mosquito-borne diseases.

On Friday, health workers and ASHA workers carried out the Dry Day campaign in several areas, including Lattupalli, Manganur, Gangaram, and Errakunta Thanda. During the campaign, they distributed Abate oil, which helps prevent the growth of mosquito larvae.
