Gadwal: Water Released into RDS Canal to Aid Farmers

Former MLA Dr. SA Sampath Kumar, who is also the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), has taken a significant step to help farmers. He led the release of water into the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) canal at Sindhanur. This move is crucial for the farmers of Alampur constituency as they get ready for the Kharif planting season.

In a ceremony attended by many enthusiastic farmers, Dr. Sampath Kumar opened the canal lift, allowing water to flow into the RDS canal. This water is expected to rejuvenate the agricultural fields, ensuring they are well-irrigated and ready for planting.

Dr. Sampath Kumar spoke to the gathering, emphasizing the Congress party’s dedication to farmers. He said, “The Congress party has always prioritized the needs of our farmers. Under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, we have consistently supported agricultural initiatives and ensured that farmers receive the resources they need.”

He also mentioned ongoing discussions with the administration about local issues like Mallamma Kunta, showing the party’s continuous efforts to support agriculture.

The event was attended by RDS officials, RDS leaders, Kisan Congress leaders, Congress Party mandal presidents, villagers, and farmers. They all expressed their happiness and support for the initiative.

With the timely release of water, farmers are optimistic about a successful Kharif season. This brings hope and potential prosperity to the Alampur constituency.

Despite the Krishna River flowing at full capacity, farmers in the Nadigadda area are facing severe water shortages. Important reservoirs in Gadwal and Alampur, which are crucial for farming, are either empty or drying up. This is causing distress among the local farming community.

Key reservoirs such as Ryalam Padu, Guddem Doddi, Tati Kunta, Nagardoddi, Muchochoni Palli, and Chinnoni Palli, which are part of the Nettampadu Lift Irrigation Scheme, are particularly affected. Even though there’s ample water in the Krishna River, these reservoirs aren’t receiving enough water, making farmers anxious about the upcoming Kharif season.

Dr. Sampath Kumar recently led the release of water into the RDS canal, aiming to provide much-needed irrigation to Alampur farmers. However, the issue of empty reservoirs remains a major concern.

Speaking at the canal lift ceremony, Dr. Sampath Kumar reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to supporting farmers. “We are aware of the critical water shortages facing our farmers,” he said. “Under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, we are working tirelessly to ensure that agricultural needs are met.”

Farmers and government officials are now hoping that the reservoirs in Gadwal and Alampur will be filled using the available water from the Krishna River. Immediate efforts are needed to channel this water into the drying reservoirs, alleviating farmers’ worries and securing a successful agricultural season.

With local community and officials pushing for urgent action, the coming days will be crucial for the agricultural future of the Nadigadda area. Farmers remain hopeful that their concerns will be addressed and that timely interventions will ensure their fields are adequately irrigated.
