Hyderabad: BJP OBC Morcha national president and Rajya Sabha member Dr. K. Laxman has called on citizens to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming Teachers and Graduate MLC elections.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Dr. Laxman stated that the BJP will continue to advocate for issues affecting the public, such as employee retirement benefits, job opportunities for the unemployed, and student fee reimbursements. He expressed confidence in the victory of BJP candidates Anji Reddy (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad Graduate MLC), Malka Komuraiah (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Medak-Adilabad Teachers MLC), and Sarottam Reddy (Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam Teachers MLC).

Dr. Laxman criticized the Congress government, accusing it of failing to fulfill its promises. He remarked, “The guarantees offered by Congress have now become a burden for them. During the elections, they made six guarantees, 66 assurances, and 420 promises to gain votes but have failed to deliver on these commitments after coming to power.”

He also pointed out that even the State Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad acknowledged that many promises were made without considering the state’s economic situation. Dr. Laxman questioned, “When Congress leaders made these promises before the elections, were they unaware of the financial constraints? Now, they are using these excuses to avoid accountability.”

Dr. Laxman warned that if Congress continues to claim the state treasury is empty and fails to meet its promises, the people will likely remove them from power. He urged Congress leaders to admit their failures and resign if they are unable to deliver. He assured that the BJP would hold Congress accountable on behalf of the people.

The BJP leader also highlighted dissatisfaction within Congress ranks. He mentioned that Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy admitted the government’s failure to implement its election promises, leading to growing frustration in rural areas. He pointed out unfulfilled promises, such as reducing the Rs 15,000 per acre guarantee for farmers to Rs 12,000, failing to waive Rs 2 lakh loans for over 30 lakh farmers, and not providing Rs 500 gas cylinders to all eligible beneficiaries. Additionally, other promises, like gold for married girls and creating 2 lakh government jobs, have not materialized.

Dr. Laxman also criticized Congress’s performance in Karnataka, alleging that commitments like 200 units of free electricity, Rs 2,000 monthly payments for women, and farmer loan waivers have not been fully implemented. He concluded by accusing Congress of failing to meet its election promises across the board while pledging that the BJP will continue to fight for the people’s rights.
