BJP MP Dr K Laxman expressed concerns that the State government in Telangana may face a similar fate as governments in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka after the Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized that the future of Telangana lies with the BJP, as the political life span of the ruling party, BRS, is coming to an end.
Dr Laxman mentioned that MPs, including those from the BRS, are in contact with the BJP due to fears of contesting on BRS tickets in the upcoming elections. He criticized the Congress for making electoral promises tied to winning elections, citing examples of failed promises in Rajasthan and rebellion in HP and Karnataka.
The MP challenged CM A Revanth Reddy and party members for a discussion on the support provided to farmers by the Modi government compared to the UPA regime. He questioned the Congress’s promises of six guarantees in a state facing financial difficulties and urged them to provide a clear plan for implementation.
Dr Laxman accused both the BRS and Majlis of conspiring to prevent Metro Rail from reaching the Old City and expressed confidence in BJP winning all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. He highlighted the need for development in Hyderabad’s Old City and criticized the Congress for imposing excessive conditions for their guarantees.
During a ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ in Charminar Assembly segment, Dr Laxman reiterated the importance of BJP winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat for the development of the city. He criticized AIMIM for prioritizing big businesses over the needs of the poor in the Old City and accused their leader of protecting ill-gotten wealth.
Dr Laxman urged residents of the Old City to give BJP a chance to witness development on par with other areas, emphasizing the party’s commitment to improving infrastructure and opportunities for all citizens.
