BJP Leader Dr K Laxman Criticises Telangana CM Revanth Reddy

Member of Parliament and BJP Parliamentary Board member Dr K Laxman criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s response to an invitation from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. He described Reddy’s reaction as inappropriate.

Dr Laxman highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have assured that parliamentary seats in southern states will not be reduced. He pointed out that allegations of corruption against the DMK party and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin are emerging ahead of the state’s assembly elections next year.

He claimed that these corruption allegations are being used as a distraction from unfulfilled promises made in previous elections. According to Dr Laxman, the focus on the delimitation issue is an attempt to mislead the public and gain political advantage.

Amit Shah has clarified that if seat redistribution happens, the number of seats will increase rather than decrease. Dr Laxman stated that Tamil Nadu’s people want change due to Stalin’s alleged failures and corruption, and this is why they are now supporting the BJP. He also noted growing dissatisfaction among people in Telangana and accused the Congress party of trying to cover it up.

He further explained that any changes to delimitation will only take place after a constitutional amendment in 2026. He also pointed out that the Central Government has not yet made any announcements or set rules regarding seat redistribution. He advised the Chief Minister that such discussions will take place in Parliament, where the Congress Party can express its views.

Dr Laxman criticised CM Revanth Reddy for suggesting that the BJP was working against the southern states. He urged Reddy to point out flaws in the process only after the policies are officially established. He also condemned Reddy’s statement that the situation would be a loss for all southern states.

He asserted that the BJP is committed to Telangana’s development and urged the Chief Minister to acknowledge the various initiatives launched by the Central Government. He stressed that leaders should understand government policies, public concerns, and constitutional procedures before making statements.

Since G Kishan Reddy represents Telangana in the Central Government, Dr Laxman argued that the Chief Minister should consult experts and officials before focusing on delimitation. He expressed concern that the Chief Minister either lacks knowledge of constitutional matters or is deliberately ignoring them.
