    Hyderabad: Dr. Kota Neelima, the Sanath Nagar Congress in-charge, expressed deep concern over the stampede that occurred at the token counters for Vaikunta Dwaram darshan in Tirumala during Vaikunta Ekadashi. She described the incident as a major disaster and deeply distressing.

    Dr. Neelima called the tragedy at the world-famous pilgrimage site of Tirumala-Tirupati truly lamentable. She extended her heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate event.

    The Congress leader questioned how the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which is known for its usually well-organized darshan arrangements, failed to ensure the safety of devotees. She raised concerns about accountability and asked who would take responsibility for the incident.

    Dr. Neelima urged the Andhra Pradesh government to conduct a thorough inquiry into the tragedy. She called for strict action against those found responsible to prevent such incidents in the future.
