The State government has given a job to the sister of Dr Dharavath Preethi, who died under suspicious circumstances. Dr Preethi was a first year PG student in the Kakatiya Medical College who died on February 26 due to alleged harassment by her senior Dr Saif. The government had promised Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia and a job to one of Preethi’s family members. Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao also gave Rs 10 lakh to Preethi’s family.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) appointed D Pooja, Preethi’s sister, as a Support Associate in the IT Cell on contract basis with a consolidated honorarium of Rs 50,000 per month for one year. Her contract may be renewed depending on her performance and the necessity of the work beyond the initial period. Errabelli Dayakar Rao made this possible by pursuing the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao.
