Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has accused the Chief Minister of Telangana of making false claims during a visit to Maharashtra. He alleged that the CM falsely claimed to have fulfilled the promises made by the Congress party in Telangana’s election manifesto.

While campaigning in Nagpur on Wednesday, Sanjay Kumar addressed the media and accused the Telangana government of using state funds for propaganda in Maharashtra. He added that this was misleading the local population.

He stated that none of the six guarantees promised to the people of Telangana had been fulfilled. He further criticized the Congress party, claiming that out of the 420 promises made in their manifesto, not a single one had been kept. He referred to the Congress government as a “420 Congress government,” implying dishonesty.

During the campaign in Maharashtra, Sanjay also criticized Congress for making promises like providing Rs 3,000 for women, Rs 4,000 for unemployed youth, and conducting a caste census. He expressed confidence that these promises would not work, as he believed the people of Maharashtra are well-informed.

Sanjay pointed out that in Telangana, people are demanding the fulfillment of the six guarantees before any discussions on a caste census. He claimed that the Telangana government is corrupt and that the state treasury had been nearly exhausted within just one year. He further alleged that Telangana, which is heavily in debt, is planning to spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore on the Musi River rejuvenation project, calling it a potential scam. While the BJP supports the idea of rejuvenating the river, Sanjay said the party opposes the corruption associated with the project.

He also criticized the Telangana government for operating on a “commission-based” approach, where projects are only approved after commissions are taken. He accused the government of showing favoritism towards certain sections of society.

Lastly, Sanjay alleged that the Congress party is collaborating with the Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (MIM) and claimed that there had been nearly 100 attacks on Hindu temples in Telangana in the past ten months, with no action taken against the attackers. He warned that Congress is trying to implement a divisive strategy based on caste and religion in Maharashtra, similar to what he believes is happening in Telangana.
