Nagar Kurnool: District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr. Swarajya Lakshmi visited the tribal hamlet of Appapur in the Nallamala region on Wednesday as part of the 100-day Nikshay Shivir campaign. She was joined by a mobile medical team to conduct health screenings. The team carried out TB screenings for suspected cases and provided eye tests and X-rays for those in need.
Before heading to Appapur, Dr. Swarajya Lakshmi made a surprise inspection of the Mannanur Primary Health Centre (PHC). During the inspection, she reviewed attendance registers, medicine stocks, and hospital records. She also instructed the medical staff to increase the number of deliveries performed at the hospital.
At Appapur, Dr. Swarajya Lakshmi focused on the health of pregnant women. She checked their Mother and Child Protection (MCP) cards and educated them about the importance of calcium tablets. She addressed their health concerns and encouraged them to use the 102-ambulance service for medical tests. She also advised pregnant women to get admitted to government hospitals at least a week before their expected delivery dates to ensure safer childbirth.
