In the villages of Aija mandal, within Gadwal district, locals were shocked to learn about unlicensed and unauthorized medical practices being conducted by Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs) and Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs). District medical officers recently raided a clinic in Venkatapur, Aija mandal, where practitioners were treating patients without the necessary qualifications. The clinic was seized and practitioners were issued notices. Similar unauthorized practices were discovered in other raids, including unlicensed acupuncture treatments and the use of fake medical certificates. Three private clinics in Gadwal town were shut down for illegal practices.
In Erra valli, Itikyal mandal, a doctor was found operating a nursing home with a fake certificate. The establishment was immediately closed by medical officers. In Baligera, Gattu mandal, another private clinic was found stocked with unlicensed drugs. The clinic was seized and the practitioner was warned by authorities.
Dr. Anjali Reddy, the district’s medical officer, spoke at a town hall meeting on Monday to address the issue. She emphasized that selling unlicensed drugs and providing unqualified treatment is not only unethical but also a crime. Dr. Reddy assured the community that strict actions will be taken against those who violate these standards. She urged residents to report any such practices immediately for proper action to be taken.
