V. Rajani, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, stressed the importance of legal awareness for students. She shared this message during a legal awareness seminar held at the Government Junior College in Wanaparthy.
Rajani urged students to learn about laws from a young age, alongside their regular education. She pointed out several important laws, such as:
– Driving without a license is a criminal offense.
– Wearing helmets is mandatory for all vehicle riders.
– Triple riding on two-wheelers is punishable by law.
– The POCSO Act imposes strict penalties for sexual offenses against minors.
– Child labor is illegal.
She also warned students about the growing number of cybercrimes due to technological advancements and advised them to stay cautious.
Additionally, Rajani informed the students about the free legal services provided by the Lok Adalat. She encouraged them to take advantage of these services, noting that the toll-free number for Lok Adalat is 15100.
Krishnaiah, from Sakhi Legal Council and Vice President of the Lawyers’ Association, also spoke at the event. He highlighted the various laws that address women’s issues and emphasized the benefits of using these laws.
The seminar was attended by lawyer Narendra Babu, Vice Principal Lavanya, faculty members, students, and Lok Adalat staff.
