District SP Reviews Security for Maldakal Jathara Celebrations
District SP T. Srinivasa Rao visited Maldakal to review the security arrangements for the annual Jathara celebrations of Sri Sri Sri Swayambhu Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy, also known as Maldakal Thimmappa Swamy. The event, which began today, attracts a large number of devotees, and the SP inspected the preparations to ensure their safety and convenience.
Focus on Parking and Temple Premises
During his visit, SP Srinivasa Rao inspected parking facilities on I-Z Road, Gadwal Road, Elkur Road, and Madhyala Banda Road. He suggested additional measures to improve parking for devotees. At the temple premises, the SP reviewed the queue line barricades, entry and exit gates, and VIP entry points to ensure smooth movement of devotees.
Police Briefing and Guidelines
A briefing session was held for police personnel deployed from the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district. The SP outlined clear instructions on crowd management and maintaining security. Officers were reminded to stay vigilant and assist devotees during the festival.
Key Directives for Security and Crowd Management
To ensure a hassle-free celebration, the SP issued several important directives:
1. Shift-based Security: Security personnel will work in two shifts over the five-day event to ensure round-the-clock vigilance.
2. Assisting Devotees: Police officers were instructed to help devotees, especially children, and manage queues to prevent confusion.
3. Focus on Major Events: Special attention is being given to crowd management during the Teppotsavam (boat festival) and Rathotsavam (chariot festival), which are the main attractions and draw large crowds over three days.
4. Communication via WhatsApp Groups: A dedicated WhatsApp group has been set up to enable quick reporting and resolution of issues by the police team.
Call for Dedication
The SP emphasized the need for commitment and teamwork among police personnel to ensure the Jathara is peaceful and successful. He urged officers to prioritize the comfort and safety of devotees.
Participants in the Inspection
Several police officials, including Gadwal CI T. Srinu, Shanti Nagar CI Tata Babu, and SI Nandikar, joined SP Srinivasa Rao during the inspection and briefing.
