District SP Emphasizes Proactive Policing in Gadwal
Gadwal: District Superintendent of Police (SP) T. Srinivas Rao has directed police officials to visit every village regularly and maintain strict surveillance to gather advance information on criminal activities. This proactive approach aims to enable timely action and prevent crimes.

He provided detailed instructions on proper case handling, emphasizing the need for transparency and caution during investigations.
The SP highlighted the importance of police officers visiting villages at least once a week. He advised them to identify potential troublemakers in advance and take necessary preventive measures. Regular engagement with the public, he said, would help officers gather crucial information that could prevent incidents.
The SP also addressed the management of government welfare programs such as Indiramma Housing and ration card distribution. He instructed police officials to ensure these programs proceed smoothly without any disruptions. Additionally, he emphasized the need for vigilance to prevent illegal activities such as unauthorized sand mining, PDS rice transportation, and gambling.
For cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the SP mandated that investigations must be completed within 60 days and charge sheets filed promptly. He also called for rigorous efforts to control property-related crimes and advised officers to examine such cases thoroughly from all angles.
Highway patrols were urged to remain vigilant to prevent crimes such as ATM thefts and robberies, particularly given incidents reported in other states. The SP stressed the importance of resolving older pending cases swiftly and efficiently.
Commending the police for their efforts during recent Sankranti, Christmas, and New Year celebrations, the SP praised the national highway patrols and Operation Smile initiatives. He also reviewed the performance of the “She Team” and suggested conducting awareness programs in schools and colleges to address women’s safety.
In response to rising cybercrime cases, the SP urged Cyber Warriors to raise public awareness and ensure swift registration of complaints. He instructed officers to expedite the release of frozen funds to victims, following court approval, in cybercrime cases.
The SP also instructed police officials to repair non-functioning closed-circuit (CC) cameras in their jurisdictions and encouraged the installation of additional cameras through community policing efforts.
