Gadwal: SP Conducts Surprise Midnight Inspection of Police Duties
Jogulamba Gadwal District Superintendent of Police (SP), T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, conducted a surprise inspection of police activities during midnight hours in Gadwal town. The inspection focused on night patrolling, Blue Colts, and beat duties performed by the police personnel.
As part of his visit, the SP toured key areas such as Rajiv Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Krishna Veni Chowk, Beerelli Road, Railway Station, and the New Housing Board locality. He observed how the police were carrying out their patrolling duties, including checking vehicles and individuals. The SP also inspected their use of the Papillon device, which helps identify suspicious individuals by capturing fingerprints, and reviewed their methods for inspecting lodges.
The SP emphasized the importance of closely monitoring bus stands, railway stations, and residential colonies during night hours. He directed officers to use the Papillon device to verify suspicious individuals and cross-check their records through the app. Additionally, he instructed the police to keep an eye on unauthorized transportation of materials like sand and to report any illegal activities to the night duty officers.
At the railway station, the SP inspected the work of the patrolling staff and foot patrols. He analyzed details such as the number of trains arriving between 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM, passenger movement, and patrolling along the railway tracks. The SP provided specific instructions to the night duty in-charge, SI Shukur Dharoor, on ways to effectively control property crimes in the area.
Later, the SP visited the Gadwal Town Police Station to review the daily execution of patrolling, Blue Colts, and beat duties. He checked the presence of personnel assigned to night watch duties and gave detailed instructions to the Station SI, Kalyan Kumar, to improve operational efficiency.
The purpose of these inspections was to enhance security during nighttime, improve the effectiveness of police operations, and reduce crime across the district.
