    District-Level Meeting Held to Promote Girl Child Welfare in Gadwal

    A district-level coordination meeting was held at the IDOC Conference Hall in Gadwal under the leadership of District Additional Collector Sri Narsinga Rao. The meeting, organized by the Women and Child Welfare Department, marked the tenth anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program, an initiative launched by the Central Government to support and empower girl children.

    During the meeting, Sri Narsinga Rao stressed the need for all departments concerned with the welfare of girl children to work together. He pointed out the importance of spreading awareness about the program among village-level officials to ensure its effective implementation at the grassroots level. The Additional Collector also emphasized the need to promote the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana scheme on a large scale to benefit more families.

    Sri Narsinga Rao issued a strict warning against illegal sex determination tests, cautioning that nursing homes and hospitals found conducting such tests would face serious consequences. He also called for collective efforts to promote education for girl children and ensure their safety and well-being.

    Several key officials attended the meeting, including District Welfare Officer Sunanda, SC Welfare Officer Saroj, BC Welfare Officer Ramesh Babu, Intermediate Education Officer Hriday Raju, District Child Protection Officer Narasimha, and District Coordinator for Women Empowerment, Jyotsna. Their participation highlighted the collaborative approach being taken to boost the success of this important initiative.
